Charlesworth & Chisworth Cricket Club is preparing for the 2027 season with the 1st XI in Division 2 and the 2nd XI in Division 3 of the Derbyshire & Cheshire League.
We're a proud village club with serious ambition. Our senior section runs multiple Saturday league sides plus a relaxed Sunday friendly XI, supported by weekly nets, structured pre-season training and a coaching set-up designed to bring the best out of every player.
Whether you're a seasoned league cricketer, returning to the game after a few years away, or picking up a bat for the first time as an adult — you'll find a place here. Our culture is built on competitive performance and genuine welcome in equal measure.
Everything you need to play your best cricket.
Saturday League Cricket
Two Saturday XIs in the Derbyshire & Cheshire League – the 1st XI in Division 2 and the 2nd XI in Division 3 for 2027 – with a clear pathway from development to first-team cricket.
Sunday Friendlies
A relaxed, social Sunday side playing friendlies through the summer — perfect for newcomers, returning players, or anyone who just loves the game.
Weekly Training
Structured nets and outdoor sessions throughout the season, with pre-season indoor practice to sharpen skills before the first ball is bowled.
All Abilities Welcome
From experienced league players to absolute beginners — we'll find the right level for you and help you grow as a cricketer.
Excellent Facilities
A well-maintained ground with quality wickets, a welcoming clubhouse and everything you need for a proper afternoon's cricket.
Real Club Spirit
A close-knit community where post-match teas, clubhouse evenings and supporting each other matter as much as the cricket.
Find your level. Push your game.
1st XI — Saturday Division 2
Our flagship side. We're actively looking to strengthen the squad with committed, ambitious cricketers ready to test themselves at this level.
2nd XI — Saturday Division 3
A genuine pathway into senior cricket, blending experienced heads with developing players. The perfect environment to step up your game in a competitive but supportive setting.
Sunday XI — Friendlies
Lower intensity, higher enjoyment. Ideal if you're new to the game, easing back in, or simply want a relaxed afternoon of cricket with good company.
Training & Development
Open nets through the season, plus structured pre-season practice. We'll work with you on technique, fitness and match craft whatever your starting point. Winter nets start on 1 February 2027. Summer nets at the ground usually begin after Easter, weather permitting.

New to cricket? Start here.
You don't need previous experience, expensive kit or a perfect cover drive. If you're curious about cricket and want to try it properly, our weekly training sessions are the easiest way in. You'll be paired with experienced players, shown the basics, and given real opportunities to play matches in our Sunday side as you build confidence.
Plenty of our current senior players started exactly this way. Bring trainers, comfortable clothes and a willingness to have a go — we'll handle the rest.
