Green With Envy! Women’s Indoor Side Soars to Massive Win

The Mam Tor division of the East Indoor Winter League witnessed a clinical dismantling this week as our Women’s Indoor side swept aside Hawk Green CC. In a format where space is tight and the walls talk, Charlesworth spoke the language of pure dominance, posting a colossal 136 for the loss of just three wickets. It was a batting masterclass that left the opposition scurrying around like supermarket shoppers in a closing-down sale. Chasing a mountain of runs, Hawk Green found themselves caught in a Charlesworth stranglehold. Our bowling unit was as relentless as a rainy Tuesday in Derbyshire, chipping away until the opposition were skittled for 82. With eight wickets falling in just 12 overs, it’s fair to say our bowlers enjoyed their evening under the lights, leaving the Hawk Green batters wondering if they’d walked into a whirlwind by mistake. While the scorecard doesn’t name the individual heroes this time, the collective effort was nothing short of magnificent. To win by such a margin in the indoor format is a statement of intent that will surely have the rest of the league trembling in their trainers. We’re heading back to the club with chests puffed out and the win firmly in our back pockets. It was a performance so polished you could see your reflection in it—unlike the opposition's stumps, which spent most of the night lying flat on the floor.
