Dinting Dash Hopes as Under 13s Find the Going Tough

The sun was out at Charlesworth, but unfortunately, the runs were not. In a clash that felt a bit like trying to stop a runaway train with a wet paper towel, our Under 13s fell to a clinical Dinting CC side. The visitors batted with suspicious levels of competence, piling up a daunting 133 for 4 off their 20 overs. Our bowlers toiled away with heart, but Dinting seemed to find the boundary with the irritating frequency of an alarm clock you can't quite reach. Chasing 134 was always going to require a dash of magic or perhaps a very large magnet behind the bowler's arm. Sadly, the magic stayed in the kit bag. We limped to 59 for 8 as the Dinting attack proved stickier than a spilled lemonade in the pavilion. While we didn't exactly set the scoreboard on fire, the grit shown by our tail to bat out the full 20 overs was a masterclass in stubbornness that would make a mule proud. We take the defeat on the chin, safe in the knowledge that our tea-drinking abilities remain undisputed across Division B. We’ll be back next week, hopefully with bats that have slightly larger middles and a bit more luck. Onwards and upwards, lads—mostly upwards, please!
