Tintwistle Take the Points as Charlesworth T20 Fizzles Out

A Tuesday night thriller at home didn’t quite go to script as our T20 side suffered a bit of a localized power outage against Tintwistle CC. Despite the home advantage, we couldn’t quite find the boundary rope often enough, eventually falling to a six-wicket defeat. It wasn’t exactly a run-fest, but it certainly kept the spectators on the edge of their deckchairs. Batting first, the Charlesworth lads ground out a gritty 104. We crawled to the 50-mark in the ninth over, but the innings never truly caught fire like a damp firework. A late flurry saw us nudge past three figures in the 19th over—thanks in no small part to 17 extras gifted by our generous visitors—but we were eventually polished off for 104 with three balls left unused. In response, Tintwistle didn’t exactly sprint to the target, but they were efficient enough to avoid any real collapse. Our bowlers toiled away, picking up four wickets to keep things interesting, but with 22 extras handed back to them, the chase was a little too comfortable. They crossed the line in the 17th over, leaving us to wonder 'what if' we'd found another 20 runs. A tough loss to swallow, but at least the bar was open early. We’ll be back to our swashbuckling best next time, provided we remember which end of the bat to hold!
