U11s Rule the Roost as Tintwistle Toppled!

The sun was shining on Thursday as the Under 11A boys delivered a masterclass in 'village' dominance, securing a comfortable victory against our neighbours from Tintwistle. It was a classic clash of the titans at home, but in the end, the Charlesworth machine proved far too oiled for the visitors to handle. After 16 overs of high-octane drama, we posted a commanding 96 runs for the loss of six wickets. The lads played with the kind of confidence that suggests they’ve been studying the coaches’ manuals—or at least listening for once. While the wickets tumbled a little more frequently than the skipper might have liked, the scoring rate remained as brisk as the breeze off the moors. In response, Tintwistle struggled to get out of second gear against our disciplined attack. They eventually whimpered to 67 for 3 after their allotted overs. Our bowlers were stingy enough to make a local accountant blush, keeping the run rate under lock and key. It wasn’t just a win; it was an exercise in defensive superiority. A stellar team effort all round ensures bragging rights remain firmly on our side of the hill for another week. If the boys keep this up, we might have to start charging for autographs at the tea hut!
