Under 11s Mid-Battle: Chaos, Coffee, and Clean Whites!

The tea lady is still buttering the scones and the scorebook is largely a work of fiction at this stage, but the Under 11 North clash between Charlesworth and Hollingworth is officially underway at the fortress. With the sun making a rare guest appearance, our young stars have taken to the turf with all the enthusiasm of a pack of Labradors chasing a tennis ball. The early exchanges have been a blur of frantic running and enthusiastic appeals that would put a professional choir to shame. While the official result is still hanging in the balance, the tension on the boundary—mostly from parents clutching lukewarm coffee—is palpable. Whether we are currently witnessing a masterclass in defensive batting or a chaotic scramble for singles remains to be seen, but the spirit of the game is certainly winning.
