Miller Time! Seconds Skewer Chapel in Clinical Home Win

The 2nd XI served up a masterclass in efficiency at home this weekend, dismantling Chapel-en-le-Frith with the kind of ruthless precision usually reserved for the Sunday roast. It was a demolition job from the off, as our visitors were bundled out for a measly 67 in just 26 overs. The headline act in this bowling symphony was undoubtedly Mackenzie Miller, who produced figures so economical they’d make a bank manager weep. Snagging 3 wickets for just 4 runs, Mackenzie turned the pitch into a minefield, ensuring Chapel never truly got out of first gear despite a generous helping of 15 extras from our boys. The chase was a relatively serene affair, though we did manage to lose five wickets just to keep the spectators from nodding off. Danny Miller anchored the pursuit with a sturdy 27, guiding us past the 50-run mark in under 15 overs and eventually across the finish line in the 26th. A comprehensive victory that leaves us grinning like Cheshire cats. If we keep bowling like that, we might even start believing we know what we’re doing!
