Miller Time as Charlesworth Crush High Lane in Division 3 Rout

In a display of dominance that confirms the 2nd XI are indeed the pride of the village, Charlesworth dispatched High Lane with the kind of ruthless efficiency usually reserved for the Sunday roast. Restricting the visitors to a modest 130-7 after forty overs of toil, our bowlers simply refused to let the High Lane engine get out of second gear. The star of the show with the ball was undoubtedly Ella Kassim, who ripped through the opposition with a devastating 3-11. Her accuracy had the High Lane batters looking like they were trying to solve a Rubik's cube in a dark room. While the Finley duo managed a gritty partnership for the visitors, they were eventually stifled by a Charlesworth attack that smelled blood in the water. When it came time to bat, Danny Miller decided he had places to be. His blistering 50 off just 49 balls—laced with ten boundaries—anchored the chase perfectly. Supported by Sean Miller in a brisk 50-run stand, we romped home in just 21 overs, reaching 131-4 and putting the result beyond doubt before the tea had even finished brewing. An emphatic win that leaves the visitors wondering if they took a wrong turn at the bypass. If we keep playing like this, the Division 3 trophy might need to start looking for a permanent home on our mantelpiece.
