We posted a formidable 181-8 from our 40 overs, a total that looked increasingly imposing as the afternoon sun began to dip. The headline act of the first innings was undoubtedly Wahab Younas. Wahab played with the kind of effortless grace that makes the rest of us look like we’re batting with garden rakes, falling just agonizingly short of a ton with a brilliant 90. His knock anchored the innings and provided the fireworks necessary to put the opposition on the back foot from the off. Defending 181, our bowling attack turned the screw with clinical precision.
