Barningham Blasts Hayfield as 2nd XI Sprint to Victory

The Hayfield visitors may have enjoyed the scenic drive to our place, but they certainly didn't enjoy their stay at the crease. In a display of bowling brilliance that bordered on the antisocial, Tom Barningham tore through the lineup like a moth through a vintage cricket jumper, snaring 4-23. Hayfield were skittled for a poultry—sorry, paltry—48 in just 20.3 overs. The chase was swifter than the queue for the post-match pint, as our 2nd XI rattled off the 50-run mark in a mere 9.3 overs despite losing four wickets in the rush. With 13 extras helping us along, we secured the Division 3 win before the sun had even thought about setting. A clinical, ruthless, and delightfully short afternoon’s work!
