Dove Holes Deliver a Drubbing as Firsts Fold Away

A trip to Dove Holes proved to be less of a gentle stroll and more of a mountain climb without a rope. Our hosts were in an unforgiving mood, plundering a mammoth 344/3. Phil Elliott was the pick of our weary attack, snaring 2-75 amidst the carnage. In response, our run chase never quite achieved lift-off. Ivan Heathcote provided a defiant 26, but the rest of the order folded quicker than a deckchair in a gale. We were bundled out for 68 in just over 20 overs, proving that while we have the spirit, the Dove Holes bowling had the sting. A tough day at the office, but we’ll be back for more punishment—and hopefully some runs—next week!
