A brilliant group of women who love their cricket.
The Charlesworth & Chisworth CC Ladies Team is one of the most welcoming corners of the club — a group of women who play hard, laugh harder and look out for each other on and off the pitch.
We compete on Tuesday evenings in the High Peak Ladies Softball League, a relaxed, social format played with a soft ball and simplified rules. It's the perfect way into the game: less daunting than hardball cricket, but every bit as competitive once the match begins.
What is softball cricket? Rules explained
Whether you've never picked up a bat in your life, played a bit at school years ago, or you're a regular cricketer looking for a midweek game — there's a spot here for you. No experience, no expensive kit and no pressure required.

Training
Fridays · 7–8pm
Drop-in training at the club ground. Learn the basics, sharpen your skills and meet the rest of the team in a relaxed setting.
What to expect on the pitch.
Softball cricket is designed to be approachable. Matches are short — usually around 90 minutes — with shorter boundaries, a soft incrediball that won't hurt if it hits you, and rules that keep everyone involved. Everyone bats. Everyone bowls. Everyone fields.
You don't need pads, gloves or whites. Trainers, comfortable clothes and a willingness to give it a go are all it takes. We'll show you the rest, and you'll be playing matches sooner than you think.
More than just cricket.
