    JUNIOR
    CRICKET

A friendly, family-focused programme where boys and girls of all abilities learn the game, make great friends and grow in confidence.

    A great place to start

Where young cricketers learn, play and belong.

Our junior section is the heartbeat of the club. We welcome boys and girls of all abilities — from beginners picking up a bat for the very first time to young players developing their game and dreaming of playing senior cricket.

Every session is delivered by qualified, DBS-checked coaches in a fun, safe environment. The focus is always on building skills, teamwork and confidence — and on making sure every child leaves with a smile.

Parents are just as much a part of the club. While the kids play, you can relax in our welcoming clubhouse, meet other families and enjoy the genuine community spirit that makes Charlesworth & Chisworth CC such a special place to be.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does junior cricket cost?
Junior cricket is covered by family membership, which is £120 a year for the whole family. Your child can come along before you commit to anything.
Does my child need their own kit?
No. The club lends bats, pads and helmets for sessions, so trainers, comfortable clothes and a water bottle are all they need. Membership also includes a sponsored club shirt.
My child has never played. Will they be left out?
No. Every session is split by age and ability, and our DBS-checked, ECB-qualified coaches give beginners the same attention as experienced players.
When does junior cricket start again?
Training days for the 2027 season will be confirmed in the New Year (this summer it was Fridays, 6–8pm). Get in touch now and we'll message you as soon as the dates are set.
Is it safe? Who looks after the children?
The club is ECB Clubmark accredited, every coach is DBS-checked, and every team has a DBS-checked adult with them.
    What about girls?
Girls are welcome in every age group, and we also run a dedicated girls' softball team playing local festivals and evening matches.
    What happens after Under 13s?
After Under 13s, players move into our 3rd XI, the club's development team. Several juniors are already playing in the adult sides.
